Remote Learning

If school is required to school for any reason (e.g. snow days), then students should access remote learning as outlined below.

LOWER SCHOOL

The following options are available to students in Y7-9:

Teachers may send out specific tasks depending on whether or not subjects use certain IT programs.

UPPER SCHOOL – Y10-11 and Sixth Form

Students will be set work via Microsoft teams. Students will need to log into teams and access the classes they have for that day. Teachers will set work through teams assignments, which students are notified about. Assignments appear both in each individual class (so that students can see just the assignments relating to that subject) or via the assignments tab, which shows all assignments assigned to the user.

Students may also use Seneca learning or Sparx maths (as described above) to continue their learning if they are unable to access assignments in teams.

If school is required to close for an extended period (e.g. due to emergency building work) then staff will deliver live lessons via Microsoft Teams. Students are expected to follow their usual timetable to access those lessons at the normal lesson times.

SUPPORT

All students should have access to Microsoft teams and Microsoft 365 products, including Outlook (email). If students have trouble logging in or logging into their Microsoft 365 accounts, they can email techsupport@ralphthoresby.com and one of our IT technicians will be able to support. Microsoft products are available to download and install for free for our students, so please make use of this feature.
