Sixth form advice, information and guidance

The Sixth Form at Ralph Thoresby School is committed to ensuring that all students make informed choices about their future and progression routes post-18. We ensure that students are aware of the options open to them such as higher education, apprenticeships and employment. All 6th form students are invited to attend our annual careers fair and talk to higher education institutes, apprenticeship providers and local and national employers.

We also visit the Apprenticeship and Higher Education Fair held annually.  Our Year 12 students take part in 1 week of work experience to gain an insight into careers and the workplace. We organise talks from various professions such as medicine, law and IT. We regularly update our students on opportunities, open days and other important information via our mentoring provision and careers newletter. All students in 6th form have a 1to1 appointment with our careers advisor to discuss post-18 pathways.

The Sixth Form team offers support for UCAS and apprenticeship applications and can advise on other possible options such as gap year etc.
