Neil Martin – Chair of Governors

I have been a governor at Ralph Thorseby since 2011, originally as a parent governor and more recently as a Trust governor. I am Chair of the Governing Body and the Resources Committee.

My son and daughter were both students at Ralph Thoresby.

Along with attending meeting, sitting on interview panels and other governor roles, I enjoy being involved in the range of school activities. As a governor I attend open days, Summer Fair and the Christmas Banquet and the school show and Christmas concert, to name a few.

I work on equality and human issues and I have a keen interest in how the school supports and develops its diverse student population. I am pleased to say that the school works well in this area, but that does not stop me challenging, questioning and contributing to the decision making around equalities.

I am a member of a local artists group which promotes arts in the local area. Also, I enjoy listening to live music – although I can’t play a note – walking and photography.
