Citizenship
Citizenship is taught Yr7-Yr10 once a fortnight by a specialist team. Students are taught in ability groups and cover a variety of different topics. In Yr11 students have Citizenship once per week and have the opportunity to gain a Certificate in Financial Education GCSE. Other students will cover a variety of different units over the year.
What is Citizenship?
Citizenship education will provide your child with the knowledge, skills and understanding to prepare for playing a full and active part in society. Citizenship education will help your child to understand the world around them, the way the UK works and they will gain an understanding of how people relate to one another.
Within Citizenship we also cover PSHE (personal, social and health education) topics to ensure they can live a happy and healthy life; this will also equip them with the knowledge and understanding to help others who may be struggling.
Enrichment Day
We also have one enrichment day a year where students are off timetable and engage in an exciting, varied, and exhilarating day. This gives students the opportunity to develop the transferrable skills they need for the world beyond school. During this day students explore a variety of different topics such as the Criminal Justice system and Social Justice around the world. A wander around the corridors on the average enrichment day offers something for everyone.
If you would like to discuss any of these topics please contact Miss Bell by email on [email protected]

All homework will be set via classcharts and unless stated will be due the following lesson.
Students must also complete their ‘practice card’ throughout the year as part of compulsory homework.
