Congratulations Year 11
We were absolutely delighted to see so many proud smiles and happy faces at RTS on GCSE results day as our Year 11 students collected their GCSE and vocational results.
These results are a fantastic reflection of the hard work, determination and resilience of our students, alongside the unwavering commitment of our staff and the support of families. Everyone involved should feel incredibly proud of what has been achieved.
This cohort faced the unique challenge of not sitting SATs due to the pandemic, making it particularly difficult to establish a clear baseline from which to measure progress. Against this backdrop, it is especially encouraging to see improvements across our key headline measures. Attainment 8 has improved, as has the percentage of students achieving grades 4+ and 5+ in both English and Mathematics. These are important achievements and demonstrate the continued progress of our school and our students.
However, exam results are about much more than numbers. What matters most is the exciting future that lies ahead for our young people. We are delighted that, as things stand, the vast majority of our students are now set to take their next steps into further education, employment with training or other positive destinations.
Our excellent Careers Team have worked tirelessly alongside students throughout the year to ensure that every young person has the guidance and support they need to move confidently into their next chapter.
It is also fantastic to see so many of our students choosing to remain part of the RTS family and continue their studies in our fantastic Sixth Form, which offers a broad and ambitious range of courses and has an excellent track record of academic achievement and progression to higher education.
We are incredibly proud of our Year 11 students and everything they have achieved. We are proud of their resilience, their determination and the way they have risen to the challenges they have faced.
Congratulations, Year 11 — you have done yourselves, your families and RTS proud!
